Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal data.
This policy explains how UY Research (“we”, “us”) collects and uses your personal data when you use this website or our services. We handle personal data in line with the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
UY Research is the controller of your personal data. Contact: uyresearch@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Quote and contact forms: your name, email, optional WhatsApp number, country, degree level, project details and any files you upload.
- Messages: emails, WhatsApp messages and live chat conversations you send us.
- Reviews: the display name, programme, country, rating and text you submit.
- Technical data: your IP address is used briefly to protect our forms from spam.
Why we use it
- To prepare quotes and deliver the services you request (steps before and performance of a contract).
- To answer your questions and keep records of our work (legitimate interests).
- To publish reviews you have agreed to share (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with service providers we need to run our business: our website host (Hostinger), our email provider (Google), WhatsApp (Meta) when you choose to message us there, and Tawk.to when you use live chat. Some of these providers may process data outside the EU or UK under appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted within 12 months. Project files are deleted within 6 months of completion unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Records needed for accounting are kept as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your data, and you can object to how we use it. Email us to make a request. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority, such as IMY in Sweden, Datatilsynet in Norway or Denmark, or the ICO in the United Kingdom.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. If live chat is enabled, Tawk.to sets cookies needed to keep your chat session working.
Changes
We may update this policy. The latest version is always on this page.
Tell us about your project
Share your topic, deadline and any files. We reply with a clear written quote, and you pay nothing until you accept it.
